Grant Criteria
Grant requests will be made in written application and submitted to the NCMEF Board. They will review applications and make the final approval of awards.
Criteria for Educational Debt Reduction Grant include the following:
Applicant holds credentials by the Missionary ChurchApplicant has served a minimum number of two consecutive years and is in good standing in the MCNCD (Missionary Church North Central District)Applicant has met continuing education requirements as outlined in the MCNCD BylawsChurch's financial obligations to the MCNCD are up to dateApplicant is currently active and participating in the events of the MCNCDApplicant has a full time status, or if less than full time status, the NCMEF Board may pro-rate the grantApplicant must meet with an approved financial counselor and have his recommendation prior to grant money being awardedApplicant must be accountable and provide NCMEF with monthly loan payment informationNCMEF will match funds provided by the church or other donors according to our guidelinesNCMEF will match funds up to $3,600 per yearGrant term is up to four years with an annual re-application requiredThis grant targets individuals whose annual taxable income and housing allowance combined is $55,000 or less.Criteria for Health Insurance Supplement for Retired Pastors include the following:
Applicant is currently active and participating in events of the MCNCDRetirees with $25,000 or less of adjusted gross income plus Social Security income for the previous yearApplicant is a retired pastor (or widows/widowers of pastors) who have retired from the North Central District with a minimum of five years of active serviceOR
Applicant is a retired pastor who credentials are held in the North Central District and who has a mininum of 10 years of North Central District service regardless of the district from which they retiredCriteria for Benevolent Grant include the following:
Applicant has met continuing education requirements as outlined in the MCNCD BylawsApplicant is currently active and participating in events of the MCNCDApplicant's urgency/emergency situations will be reviewed on an individual basisGrant maximum is $3,600
